The story of Putsch® Meniconi began on October 5, 1956, in Poggibonsi, bringing together the international experience of the German Putsch Group and the know-how of Italian manufacturing. Initially, production was mainly focused on the needs of the sugar industry, which at the time represented the Putsch Group’s core business. Just a few years later, however, came the turning point that would reshape the company’s future. In 1964, Putsch Meniconi developed its very first vertical panel saw, entering a panel-processing machinery market still largely dominated by horizontal cutting. Although production of vertical panel saws was initially limited to internal use within the Group, the potential of this innovative machine was already clear. From the very beginning, that first panel saw featured some of the characteristics that would later become essential across the entire range: ease of use and a compact footprint.
As the company’s production capacity increased, so did the need for more space. For this reason, in 1970 Putsch Meniconi moved from the centre of Poggibonsi to the Bellavista industrial area, where its production facility is still located today. Over the years, several expansions became necessary to support the company’s development and its steady growth in international markets.
To respond to an ever-evolving market, the company began to renew and diversify its offering, developing cutting solutions for materials beyond wood and glass. New challenges included plastics, composite materials, aluminium and their industrial applications. Experience in machine manufacturing thus evolved into the ability to develop specific solutions for materials requiring different processing methods.
Over the years, the evolution of the product range has gone hand in hand with the development of the industries in which Putsch Meniconi operates. Vertical panel saws became increasingly advanced and automated, while new cutting solutions were introduced. First with Alucenter and, above all, with Kopernic in 2020, Putsch Meniconi entered the world of CNC technology.
From the first vertical panel saw in 1964 to today’s technologies, every generation of machines represents a step forward while retaining the qualities that have made Putsch Meniconi a benchmark in international markets: attention to detail, precision and reliability.
Seventy years of history is an anniversary worth celebrating, and an important milestone that could never have been achieved through the production and sale of our machines alone. Behind every Putsch Meniconi solution are technicians, engineers, production teams and sales professionals: people with different skills and expertise who work together and engage every day with customers and partners. This wealth of experience, knowledge and ability to listen has accompanied the company from 1956 to the present day. And after seventy years, Putsch Meniconi continues to do what it has always done: watching how the world changes to build what will be needed next.
